Kallitypes
Kallitype (definition): a photographic image made by hand-mixing
and applying a light-sensitive emulsion to archival quality cotton rag
watercolor paper. When the emulsion is dry, a negative the size of the
final print is placed over the sensitized paper in a contact printing
frame and exposed to sunlight for several minutes. The exposed print is
then carefully processed and dried. This process dates back to the late
ninetenth century. The sepia image varies in tone depending upon the
method of processing employed and can range from a cool brown to a warm
rose-brown.
Prices subject to change. All Kallitypes except "Our Town" are
available as giclées. Giclée price: $65.00 unless otherwise noted. Email Marlin or stop by Artspace to purchase.
